Project Description
This project consists of a new kitchen in the Bay Area of California and is Mershon Design’s first transitional design project.
Working in close collaboration with the owner, interior designer (Michael Friedes Design Associates) and cabinetmaker, an especially well-designed kitchen was realized at a private home in the Upper Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland. Space planning and storage needs were thoroughly considered and resolved. From natural stone and synthetic quartz countertops to the handcrafted ceramic tile backsplash to a custom-designed stainless steel and brass hood, close attention was paid in the selection and deployment of materials. Ambient, task and accent lighting was carefully integrated into the design. Particular care and effort was given to detailing of the custom cabinetry, then fabricated by a very skilled craftsman.
